Marietta

Marietta, Georgia is the county seat of Cobb County and a suburb of Atlanta. This thriving community of more than 61,000 residents is located at the foot of Kennesaw Mountain, and is a major home base for the aircraft manufacturing industry. Its easy distance to the capital city of Atlanta puts this city in a strategic position.

Life in this Southern city, like many other Georgia communities, is a mixture of past and present. Marietta was the scene of a Civil War battle, and was heavily damaged during Sherman's march through Georgia. The Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park commemorates the fallen soldiers who fought in the War.
